Pathly Privacy Policy
About Pathly · 日本語Laconix ("we," "us," or "our") establishes this Privacy Policy for the handling of information in the Pathly iOS application (the "App").
1. Information handled by the App
- Files and folders: The App handles files and folders that you select, create, share, move, rename, delete, or preview, together with information such as names, paths, and modification dates, only as needed to provide the file-management actions you request.
- On-device settings: The App stores managed-folder bookmarks, display preferences, history, recently used connections, and app-lock settings on your device.
- Google Drive: When you connect an account, the App handles your Google account identifier, display name, email address, authentication credentials, and the metadata and contents of permitted Drive files and folders. The App accesses the Google Drive API to perform actions you choose, including listing, downloading, creating folders, renaming, and moving items to trash.
- SMB servers: The App may store the server name or IP address, port, share name, username, domain, and connection history that you enter. If you choose to save a password, it is stored in the iOS Keychain.
- Purchases: Through Apple's StoreKit, the App checks product identifiers, purchase results, and entitlement status. We do not receive payment-card details.
- Biometric authentication: If you enable app lock, the App receives only the authentication result from iOS. It does not receive or store your face or fingerprint data.
2. Purposes of use
- To provide the file management, sharing, preview, and connection features you request
- To perform the actions you select on Google Drive or an SMB server
- To maintain preferences, connection state, purchased features, and security features
- To respond to inquiries, investigate defects, and maintain the security of the App
3. Storage and transmission
App preferences, history, bookmarks, and shared files are generally stored on your device, in an iOS-managed App Group container, or at a location you select. Authentication information is stored in the iOS Keychain when necessary. We do not operate a proprietary server that collects this information.
When you use Google Drive, required information is exchanged with Google's servers. When you use SMB, information is exchanged directly between your device and the SMB server you specify. The security of SMB communication also depends on the destination server and network configuration.
4. Third-party services
The App uses the following third-party services to provide its features:
- Google Privacy Policy (Google Sign-In and Google Drive API)
- Apple Privacy Policy (iOS, Keychain, StoreKit, and the App Store)
- SMB servers specified by you
These providers may process information under their own terms and privacy policies. The App does not include an SDK used by Laconix for advertising or behavioral analytics.
5. Google user data
Information obtained from Google APIs is used only to provide the Google Drive features you request. We do not use Google user data for advertising, credit decisions, surveillance, sale, or training general-purpose AI or machine-learning models. Our handling of Google user data follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
6. Disclosure to third parties
We do not sell your information or disclose it to third parties for advertising. We disclose information only when needed to send it to Google, Apple, or an SMB server you specify to perform a feature you request; when your sharing or export action passes a file to an app or destination you choose; when required by law; or when necessary to protect the rights and safety of users or others.
7. Retention and deletion
- On-device preferences and history remain until you remove them in the App or delete the App.
- Removing or signing out of a Google account in the App deletes that account's locally stored sign-in information from the App. It does not delete files in Google Drive. You may also revoke the App's access from your Google Account.
- To ensure that a saved SMB password is removed, delete the relevant server from the App's connection history.
- Temporary files created for downloads or previews may be removed by the App or iOS.
Because we do not store user data on a proprietary server, there is no server-side Pathly account or file store for us to delete.
8. Security
The App uses protections provided by Apple and the relevant services, including the iOS Keychain, operating-system sandboxing, App Groups, and HTTPS. No method of transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure. You should protect the credentials for your device, Google Account, and SMB servers.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as features, services, or legal requirements change. We will provide notice of material changes on this page or in the App. An updated policy applies when it is posted on this page.
